Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, Priti Patel MP, visited the Port of Tilbury’s London Distribution Park recently for a ‘turf-cutting’ ceremony to mark the start of construction of the first warehouse building on the 70-acre warehousing development. The unit has been let to builders’ merchant and home improvements retailer, Travis Perkins.

Priti Patel MP, said: “It’s great to be here at the start of construction of the first warehouse building at the London Distribution Park.

This is a significant development, creating jobs and bringing benefits to the local community, which is central to building a stronger, more competitive economy.”

 
 

The Port of Tilbury’s London International Cruise Terminal is celebrating a first after it had two cruise ships – Marco Polo and Black Watch – alongside at London International Cruise

 

Terminal for the first time in recent memory. This rare occurrence follows a multi-million pound investment in the terminal’s landing stage.

 

The project to temporarily relocate the iconic Battersea power station cranes to the Port of Tilbury by
barge is complete. The inaugural London Construction Link project
– a collaboration between Tilbury
and construction specialists Walsh
– finished six weeks ahead of schedule, demonstrating the power
of water-borne transport to get round and relieve congestion on the London’s roads.
