The Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta Parade of Sail was the highlight of the Thames year for many. The Tall Ships will be in Greenwich over the 2017 Easter Weekend, with a Parade of Sail planned for the Easter Sunday.
The Royal Borough of Greenwich has signed a contract with Sail Training International (STI) to host the start of the Transatlantic Tall Ship Regatta in 2017. The Regatta will start from Greenwich in April 2017 calling at Sines, Portugal before crossing the Atlantic to the USA, various ports in Canada and the Gulf of St Lawrence before reached Quebec City in July; the fleet will return to Europe in early September 2017.
The PLA mooring ‘Greenwich Ship Tier’ is booked for the event where the organisers hope to moor two of the largest ‘Class A’ Tall Ships. And as this is a transatlantic race, it is expected to attract more of the bigger class A ships than this year’s already impressive event. |

In the meantime, August in 2015 and 2016 will see ten or so smaller Tall Ships visit the Thames for their annual end of summer cruises from Greenwich up towards Tower.
