A container ship laden with
19,000 containers has launched
a series of new shipping routes stopping at DP World London Gateway. MSC Tina called at
the port recently, kicking off four
new services involving five of the world’s biggest shipping lines, collectively known as “THE Alliance”.

As of 1 April 2017 DP World London Gateway has four new services from THE Alliance, including two services from Asia. The consortium of container

shipping lines – which comprises Hapag Lloyd, K-Line, MOL, NYK Line and Yang Ming – will bring vessels on its FE3 and FE5 services into London Gateway, all of linking Asia and Europe.

and AL2 services will also call at London Gateway.

A train laden with thousands
of British goods has left London Gateway, headed for eastern
China.

It will make a 7,500-mile,
three-week journey to Yiwu in the Zhe Jiang province, just under three months after the first-ever import train from China arrived in the UK.

The service is part of China’s One Belt, One Road programme – reviving the ancient Silk Road
trading routes to the West.

Products on board include soft drinks, vitamins, pharmaceuticals and baby goods.

After passing through the Channel Tunnel, it will call in Duisburg, Germany, then Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan before the train crosses to Yiwu, China. Container operator OneTwoThree Logistics is overseeing the transportation and booking of
