The latest Thames Vision consultation, which closed in February, attracted more than
120 responses from a wide range of Thames stakeholders.

Launched just before Christmas, the consultation invited comments on the six Goals and 24 Priority Actions proposed by the Vision.

Project director Katherine Riggs said: “The response to the

latest consultation touched on all elements of the Vision, from port trade to heritage and recreation. “We’re now drafting the full Vision document and expect to publish it before the summer.”

“Interestingly, the main thrust of comments has been that the goals we’ve proposed need to be even more ambitious, which is a great challenge to have.”

The Thames Vision project has won a prestigious award from the City livery company of the transport industry, the Worshipful Company of Carmen.
The Sir Henry Royce Award for transport innovation was presented

to PLA chairman Christopher Rodrigues CBE and Vision project director Katherine Riggs, at the Livery and Awards Banquet in Mansion House. Thames Vision was launched last year to plan, with stakeholders,

the development of the tidal
river over the next 20 years.

Previous winners of Carmen awards include the Port of Tilbury, Drayson Racing Technologies and DPD UK.
